The Pelcor "Cashew" Cork Skin backpack is an elegant, minimalist, and eco-friendly backpack from Portugal. The cinnamon color I chose balances ruddy earth tones with a sleek, modern design.
I am all about the luxury backpack trend. I often use a "man purse" for carrying sunglasses, backup battery pack, chewing gum, eyedrops, wallet, keys, etc. And having an elegant, fashionable backpack is another great way for men to carry extra items.
Luxury backpacks have popped up from a number of designers, including the Fendi monster bags, the iconic MCM bags, etc. But recently, a number of new, startup fashion accessories brands have appeared.
I loved trying out the Pelcor "Cashew" backpack (Instagram @pelcor) bag, and it's become one of my day-to-day backpacks. It would be great for any gender, of course. I chose the cinnamon color, because it allows me to use my accessory as an accent item; it stands out and catches attention. I've already had a number of people in public spaces ask me about the bag. That's always a good sign!
The cork material is something I've never seen before – it feels almost like leather and has a beautiful marbled pattern. It's sourced via eco-friendly, sustainable methods from cork oaks. The material is not much like the wine cork on your shelf. Instead, it's a smooth, sturdy material that most closely resembles leather. The accents (front pocket, straps) are leather, which are a nice detail.
The size is great - it's not quite big enough for my 15" MacBook Pro, but it's the perfect size for a day around town. The straps are comfortable and feel sturdy. I think the design really compliments the minimalist outfit in these photos.
And some closeups I took myself... it's such a pretty bag!
I'm happy to give this bag a completely positive review. It retails for 245€, and I think any guy or gal who loves fashion would enjoy this bag – and I guarantee you'll get lots of compliments!
